In Irvine, family-run Italian places are busiest on weekend evenings and around holidays, when reservations or call-ahead seating are worth it. BYOB is common at smaller restaurants in some states, with a modest corkage fee or none at all; the listing or a quick call will tell you. Wing-and-pizza shops across California do most of their business by delivery and price wings by the piece or in fixed counts, with sauce heat adjustable on request. Catering trays, party pizzas and sheet pies need a day's notice at most places, and more around big game days.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 10 am–8 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. Irvine is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Irvine follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

was really disappointed with my experience at this Boudin location in Irvine. We ordered a French Dip, a Mediterranean sandwich, clam chowder, and chicken chowder. The bag was even labeled “HOT,” but everything arrived cold. The sandwiches lacked freshness, and the soups were cold enough that they needed to be reheated. For the price we paid, I expected much better quality and attention to detail. We’re staying at the nearby hotel while our apartment is being repaired, so we were hoping for a comforting meal. Instead, it ended up being one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we’ve had in a long time. I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but serving cold food that is supposed to be hot is not acceptable. I hope management addresses the food quality and temperature control so other customers have a better experience than we did.

Boudin SF in Irvine is a great spot for a quick lunch or casual dinner. The sourdough bread is always fresh and definitely the highlight. Their soups in bread bowls are really good, especially on colder days, and the sandwiches are consistently solid too. The restaurant is clean, service is friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Good place to stop if you want something simple, fresh, and reliable. Definitely recommend if you’re in the Irvine area.

I grew up with it in Northern California and to this day some 60 years later I can still find it in So Cal! There is no bread like it! Anywhere on earth 🙌🏼🫶🏼 Pro tip: it freezes well for months!

Quick pit stop before heading back to Las Vegas ✈️ Had to swing by Boudin SF Sourdough in Irvine, CA since it’s right on the way to the airport. Couldn’t resist my all-time fave soups—clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl… and a bowl of broccoli cheddar. 🥖🧀 Nothing fancy, just pure comfort food. Love it—always worth the stop!

We ordered from the kiosk so I can’t rate the customer service. We ordered 2 bread bowls, Caesar salad and a pepperoni pizza. We got back to our hotel and everything was in the bag! Thankful for that. However, the pizza looked a bit strange. It honestly looked and tasted like it was pieced together with old slices. Reminded me of Chuck E. Cheese pizza. It didn’t taste freshly made. Very disappointed. The rest of the food was good.
